Congratulations to Eagle Scout Jacob Northcutt son of Alfred and Karen on Enchanted Valley Drive!
In a ceremony held January 10, 2010, Jacob was inducted into the Eagle brotherhood. He officially earned the eagle rank on Aug. 22, 2009. Jacob's eagle project consisted of leading 25 scouts for a total of 109 man hours to landscape an area in front of Millsap Elementary.
Jacob has earned a total of 33 merit badges so far and has already received his first eagle palm. Jacob has been the Big Cypress Order of the Arrow Chapter Chief for the past two years and for the upcoming year 2010 Jacob has been nominated to Colonneh Lodge's Vice Chief.
Jacob earned his Order of the Arrow Vigil honor in November 2009, he was one of nineteen out of 5,000 candidates to receive this honor.
His family is so very proud of all of Jacob's accomplishments thus far and enjoy seeing what other great things he will achieve in his future, Love Mom, Dad and Luke Jacob, EV is so very proud of you!
This is quite an accomplishment. And with this accomplishment, we look forward to your success in the years to come.
Pup Squad Rescue, will have a permanent location now at the Houston Pavillions. You can check out their website at www.pupsquad.org. They have a "wish list" of things they would love to get to keep their new space clean and more hospitable. They definitely need lots of supplies as they will be keeping this space year round! In addition to the standard supplies they will always need, it includes the bigger stuff, too, like furniture. Maybe someone is getting rid of some old stuff and looking for a tax deduction.
General Supplies: Pens, sharpies, manila file folders and Hanging files (letter size), kitchen trash bags, large garbage bags, paper towels, bottled water, napkins, cleaning solution (Clorox all surface or similar), Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer.
Misc.: Large (kitchen-style trash cans, first aid kit/supplies, blankets, towels and/or bath mats
Storage/Organization: File cabinets(s), stackable plastic drawers – multiple sizes, Oversized stacking paper/file trays, storage cabinets – with shelves (for storing clean laundry, extra supplies, etc.), Storage bins (for storing seasonal decoration & supplies)
Furniture: Folding chairs, tables, arm chairs, couches, end tables, coffee table, extra carpet

AgriLife Extension and the Harris County Master Gardeners will be holding their Tomato and Pepper Sale and Expo on Saturday, February 27th, 9am to 2pm at the AgriLife Extension office located at 3033 Bear Creek Drive, Houston Tx 77084.
The sale will feature the best varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and herbs for Harris County.
The expo hours are 9am to 12pm, and will feature fun, educational exhibits for the entire family.
The expo topics include: Fire Ants, Garden Pests, Herbs, Low Volume Irrigation, Pruning, Rainwater Harvesting, and Soils and Composting.

The Northwest Flyers Track Club will host its annual free information / registration breakfast on Saturday, February 6, 2010, for all boys and girls, and their parents, interested in joining for the 2010 track season.
The breakfast starts at 8:30 AM at the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center Forum located at 6823 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX, 77379.
The breakfast is the annual opportunity for youth athletes to register for the 2010 summer track season, and to meet the Northwest Flyers coaches and staff, and other new and returning athletes. The event will be highlighted by a special presentation from a member of the USA Track & Field Olympic team.
The Northwest Flyers Track Club is a youth (ages 6 -18) track organization, affiliated with USA Track & Field (USATF), that provides a full program of sanctioned “track” events such as sprints, hurdles, middle distance, distance and relays, and sanctioned “field” events such as long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, discus, shot put and javelin.
The Northwest Flyers has approximately 285 members, boys and girls. The club was founded 23 years ago by Olympic gold medalist Fred Newhouse to foster the development of youth track & field in the Northwest Houston area.
The Northwest Flyers is a member of the “Win with Integrity” program, a partnership between USATF and the American College of Sports Medicine. “Win with Integrity” brings elite track & field athletes and school-aged kids together to promote healthy lifestyles, keeping active, and living with integrity through the sport of track & field.
